In today’s interview I get to speak with dentist, Dr Meghna Dassani, about sleep apnea and why sleep breathing disorders should never be ignored.

Meghna is very passionate about sleep apnoea and promoting healthy sleep through dental practices.
Motivated by wanting to find a solution for her husband, who was resigned to living with sleep apnoea, Meghna deep dived into the world of sleep-disordered breathing.
So many vital processes happen while we sleep; it is essential for repair, regeneration, as well as growth and development in young children. Problems with breathing mean poor quality sleep and can lead to serious consequences down the line.
Today, we learn more about how your dentist could help alert you to potential issues that might indicate breathing problems while sleeping, during a dental examination.
If you know someone who is interested in learning more about:
👉Why breathing problems during sleep are a serious issue
👉What is sleep apnoea
👉What are some signs and symptoms of sleep apnoea
👉How to recognise if your child might have breathing problems
👉Why snoring is a problem
👉What are risk factors and common misdiagnoses
👉How your dentist can help
Then this interview is for them.
I really enjoyed talking to Meghna, and learned a lot about how to recognise the symptoms of sleep problems, in children in particular.
Most of us probably don’t think of this as an issue that affects children but Meghna points out that the behavioural issues and the resulting misdiagnosis could simply be a sleep problem!
Special thanks to Meghna for joining me on the show. Enjoy the episode!

While you could argue that the history of biofeedback dates to the mid-1800s, biofeedback and its effects were not really studied until more than a hundred years later. By the 1970s, biofeedback had garnered an impressive following, especially in psychology and psychological research. Today, biofeedback is considered a process by which subjects can gain greater awareness and even control of a wide range of physiological functions. Through the use of biofeedback machines, individuals gain important information about the activity of various systems so that they can ultimately learn to manipulate said systems voluntarily. In current practice, biofeedback is used to improve both physical and emotional health through greater understanding of physiological processes and the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with which these processes are associated.Ways to Boost Your Immune System to Fight Cold and Virus Season
