In addition to what fruits get sweeter and sweeter year after year, our consumption of fruits has increased drastically. Fruits are supposed to be seasonal as our ancestors had it.
Our ancestors did not have easy access to fruits all year long, right?
So, just imagine how much our consumption is bigger nowadays.
And I donβt want to even talk about the juices, thatβs just terrible.
They get a fruit, then they kill almost all of the minerals and vitamins that It has by pasteurizing them. Heat also kills a lot of the enzymes By using high temperatures and eventually we left with a high Fructose drink with tons of carbs.
Thatβs why most of the fruits are supposed to be avoided on a low carb diet completely especially if your goal is to lose weight.
When it comes to fruits we have to look at a couple of things
We have a GI
We have a GL
How many carbs in that fruit?
How much sugar?
How much fiber and how dense it is?
So, here we go, hereβs our list of fruits to avoid on a low carb diet.
Dry Dates raisins and all dry fruits especially ones that are covered by sugar.
Grapes
Ripe banana
Papaya
Pineapple
Apple
Mango – which is one of my favorite fruits to be honest
Peaches
Pears
Orange
Definitely avoid all of the juices because they are even worse than the whole fruits with no doubt.
Cherries
Watermelon (that one could be eaten in small amounts since it has small Glycemic Load and mostly contain water but at the same time itβs easy to go overboard with that and thus I placed watermelon in this list)
Melon
Cantaloupe
Nectarine
Plum
Apricot
Kivi
